Merry Christmas, And A Look Back At 2018 On My Inner Circle Podcast
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much for being a part of courses, blogs, books and podcasts this year. I truly appreciate your support!
You might find my latest Inner Circle Podcast episode interesting in that it’s a look back at all of the interesting stories in music business in 2018, and there sure were a lot of them.
I take a look at how my predictions for the year turned out (some right on the money, some not so much), Spotify and Tencent Music going public, the major labels selling their Spotify stock yet losing the middle class artist, Billboard charts vs playlists, the Music Modernization Act passing, the “Blurred Lines” and “Stairway To Heaven” plagiarism lawsuits, the album dying, and Best Buy closing their CD sales, among many other things.
On the music production side, I look at the current status of Guitar Center and Gibson (things just took a turn for the worse after we all thought it was over), changes at Avid and Radial Engineering, smart speakers, production budgets going up, and streaming changing song structure, again among many other things.
No guest today because of the Holiday, but boy do we have a lot of great ones lined up for 2019!
Remember that you can find the podcast at BobbyOInnerCircle.com, or either on iTunes, Stitcher, Mixcloud, Google Podcasts (for you Android users), Google Play, and now on Spotify.
Enjoy the show, and stay out of the studio at least for today!
