Post Mixer Mike Rodriguez On My Latest Inner Circle Podcast

Mike Rodriguez on the Music 3.0 blogMy guest this week is award-winning sound designer and mixer Mike Rodriguez, who was another of my first guests when I started my Inner Circle Podcast 4 years ago. He was originally on episode #14.

Mike is a senior audio mixer at Trailer Park in Los Angeles where he mixes everything from commercials to television shows to movies to video games.

He has amassed an enormous credit list that includes audio mixing for more than 260 film, television and DVD commercials including 21 HBO television specials, and an additional 35 network and cable television series and specials.

Mike is also the creator and host of the AudioNowcast, which began in 2006 and is believed to be the longest running audio-specific podcast on the air today.

In the interview we talked about mixing commercials, delivery specs and requirements from different networks, and what’s new in DAW for post, among many other things.

On the intro I’ll also look at why Universal Music is the latest music company to seek to go public, and Shure exists the phono cartridge business.
