These 10 Reasons Are Why You Should Respect Google SEO

Google SEO - the 10 reasons why you should respect it - post on the Music 3.0 Blog

We’ve all heard the term SEO or Search Engine Optimization, but it’s difficult enough to get your online presence in order without diving into that deep end of the pool. It’s important though, because Google SEO may be the difference between being listed on page 1 of a search, or buried where no one will ever find you.

If you need some examples as to why you should pay more attention to Google SEO, Oberlo put together some data about the search engine that may open your eyes.

Reason 1 – Google is the most visited website on the planet. Just last month alone it was visited over 89.3 billion (with a “B”) times.

Reason 2 – Google dominates the search engine market, with 91.9% market share. You might like Bing or Duck Duck Go better, but Google is where all the eyeballs are at.

Reason 3 – There are over 8.5 billion searches every single day on Google. That’s more than the total population of our planet.

Reason 4 – More than 1 billion questions have been asked on Google Lens. What’s that, you may ask? It’s really a search engine within a search engine. Lens uses artificial intelligence to identify text and objects both within images and in a live view from your phone’s camera. It then lets you learn about and interact with those elements in all sorts of interesting ways.

Reason 5 – 63% of all Google’s search traffic originates on the phone. People want their info instantly and that’s how the majority of users get it. Isn’t that how they interact with you as well?

Reason 6 – The big question; what’s the most searched query? It’s hard to believe, but the answer is Facebook. People throw stones at the service but they want to know more about it.

Reason 7 – 84% of users do a Google search at least 3 times per day. We obviously like to discover things and the search engine puts the info right at our fingertips.

Reason 8 – 46% of all product searches begin on Google. If you want to find out more about a product, you could go right to Amazon or the manufacturer’s website, but almost half the searches start on Google first.

Reason 9 – 23% of all site visits happen organically. Organic means search results that are unpaid that come up as part of something else you were searching for. This is a big reason to pay attention to SEO.

Reason 10 – This may be the most important of them all. 90% of users click a link only from the first page results. That means that if you’re not only the first page, you might as well be on page 5,000 since 90% of the time people won’t even check.

I agree that thinking about SEO is a pain, but the data above shows that it’s well worth taking the extra time and effort to optimize your pages and posts as best you can. It will pay off in the end (yes, this post is optimized).
