Your Social Media Image Size Guide For 2022
It’s great to have a social presence and even better when it helps your music, but for those that can’t afford a social media manager and do everything themselves, it’s easy to get overwhelmed sometimes. One of the most frustrating things for artists doing their own social media is graphics. Each social platform changes their requirements with each update, which means that some of your graphics can come out looking squished or cropped. Here’s an image size guide for 2022 (thanks to Hootsuite) that will make sure you images always look right regardless of the platform.
Profile photo – 320 x 320 pixels
Feed photos
- Landscape – 1080 x 566
- Portrait – 1080 x 1350
- Square – 1080 x 1080
Thumbnails – 161 x 161 (recommended 1080 wide)
Stories – 1080 x 1920
Carousels
- Landscape – 1080 x 566
- Portrait – 1080 x 1350
- Square – 1080 x 1080
Reels – 1080 x 1920
Profile photo – 400 x 400 recommended
Header photo – 1500 x 500
In-stream photos – 1600 x 1900 recommended

Remember that sometimes the images actually display smaller than the recommended image size, which can be confusing. Don’t let this fool you though, because you’ll always get the best results if you follow this image size guide.
