It’s bad enough that musicians, artists and bands are forced to do their own marketing by forever posting on social media, it’s even worse when you post and it doesn’t reach your audience. That’s why knowing the best times to post on the various platforms is so critical. If you’re going to do all that work, you might as well maximize it.
Here are the best times to post in 2023 according to Giraffe Social Media.
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
Times: 9AM, 9:30AM, and 8PM
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Times: 7AM, 3:15PM, 7PM
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday
Times: 10AM, 8PM, 11PM
Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Times: 8:30AM, 9:23AM, 10AM
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Times: 9AM, 10AM, 12PM
The thing that differs from previous years is that, in every case except LinkedIn, Friday is now an optimal day for posting. In the past the general wisdom has been that social users were too busy on that day so posting was better shifted to Thursday instead.
Another is that Saturday is no longer considered an optimal day as it was in the past. Of course, Sunday is still a dead zone, as most people seem to take the day off from social.
One thing that hasn’t changed much is that in most cases the mornings are still the best when it comes to people seeing your posts. For many musicians that are late risers, the thing to do is schedule the posts the day before using a scheduler like Hootsuite, Buffer or Sprout Social. That way it’s also easier to post at those odd times like 9:23AM on Twitter and 3:15PM on Facebook.
If you’re like most musicians, artists and bands, you’re not using all of the social platforms mentioned above, and that’s probably the best strategy. It’s enough work just trying to keep up with one or two. Regardless of which ones you use, it pays to use the best times to posts to get the word out to as many people as possible.
